Blog Journey so far!

To say I was over the moon when my Blog was nominated in the Blog Awards Ireland 2014 for Best Newcomer is an understatement!

I started the Blog via a Facebook page initially (Magstyle) following a few comments of "you should start a blog" from a few of my friends (you know who you are, lol) when I'd put an outfit together or gave a tip or recommendation on something.

Eventually I went for it and Magstyle was born in February 2014 this year. I had written a few ideas on a post-it...literally that was how I came up with the name - see photo!!

I shared ideas and photos on the Facebook page and then expanded to Twitter (Mags_Style) and Instagram (Mags_Style).

I then started up on Blogger via Google after a GalaxyStyle Event in May. I attended thanks to Siopaella - a lovely shop and thrift/consignment store here in Dublin. It was my first blogger event and I learnt alot and gained confidence from it.

The blog and associated pages have grown slowly but surely over the past few months - I love it when I get a new like/follower/favourite for something that I have shared. 

I have also had lots of support from family and friends which I am very grateful for.

Meeting fellow bloggers has been a great learning curve as mentioned above and I have made new friends in the process too which is a plus! 

I recently attended a ITWBN event ( thanks to Sinead Carroll and Saibh Egan) in Hotel Meyrick in Galway. These events are so important to link like minded people together and show each other support.

When I found out I was nominated it was such a great boost that the work I had been putting in had been recognised.

Word followed through most recently that I had been shortlisted in the category!!

I am very grateful to have progressed as there are so many worthy contenders...I can't really put the feeling into words to be honest - speechless for once!

The next stage is underway to become a finalist...that would just be amazing if it were to happen but either way I am so delighted to have made it this far and hope the Blog grows and more importantly that everyone keeps enjoying it!
